My Week in Review

Last Thursday, Dad and Les came to visit us for 2 days. We enjoyed a few meals together and spent a lot of time walking around downtown AA and shopping, eating chocolates and ice cream. They left on Saturday morning after a breakfast of french toast and coffee. No sooner did they leave than my Aunt Eleanor, Aunt Joyce and Grandma arrived from Ohio! We had lunch together and went for a walk around the river, looked at some of my scrapbooks, and talked about the baby a little. After they left, I had a two hour nap!

On Sunday, we went to New Life Church to check it out. It was obvious that their target audience was undergrads; the music was quite loud (but well done); they played one song that remined us of Avril Lavigne's song Sk8er Boi!

Thursday, I had my first appointment with the OB/GYN. Basically, they just took background information and gave me some reading materials, ordered some bloodwork, etc. My next appointment will be with the doctor on the 22 of Sept. At this appointment, I'll get an ultrasound done! Dave is going to come with me! Yippee! I'll keep y'all posted.

sounds like you are having fun in AA.

Well I will be 9 weeks on Sunday! About a growing belly... I have actually lost about 5-7 lbs, so maybe it's not growing but shrinking. Only to grow huge in the next few months! I have only vomited 2x, but I feel quite nauseated most of the day.

Julie, thanks for posting the pics of your children. They are so cute!

Thanks for the comments

oh yeah and we thought of Dave as we went to the football game yesterday. They looked pretty good. I am not talking bowl yet, but maybe better than last year.

How exciting, Barb! I had my first ultrasound at 12 weeks, then another at 18, so we could find out the sex.

Fortunately, I didn't have morning sickness, and only experienced naseau a couple of times. When I did, ginger candies or ginger drinks (ones with real ginger extract, not ginger "ales") seemed to help a bit. Also starchy foods, crackers, breads, potatoes, and mac & cheese were my go to foods the first trimester.

Good luck!
