A Busy (and Lonely) Few Weeks

I just made flight plans for my third school visit this month. As it stands, my travelling schedule for the month is as follows:
Mar. 13 (Mon.) -- Mar. 16 (Thurs.): In Chicago, visiting UIC

Mar. 19 (Sun.) -- Mar. 21 (Tues.): In Tucson, visiting Arizona

Mar. 30 (Thurs.) -- Mar. 31 (Fri.): In Ann Arbor, visiting Michigan

Apr. 1 (Sat.) -- Apr. 3 (Mon.): In NYC, presenting at a conference

I still have one more (possible) trip to plan to visit UNC. This will probably take place in early April. (These visits are so important to making a decision. Since the schools are so close on paper, a decision will probably come down to some intangible factor, which we can only get through first-hand experience.)

So, these next few weeks will be busy, but lonely as well. It would be great to have Barb come along with me to at least one of these places, but since we don't know anyone in any of these places, there would nothing for her to do. I would be busy from sun up to sun down with meetings, etc., so she would have to wander the streets of a strange city on her own. Not her idea of a good time.

Anyway, this will all be over just as soon as it started, and soon we will have made a decision. But there will be no rest after that because then our moving plans must be put in motion. I'm afraid there will be no real break for us until June.

By the way, we are taking donations for the 'Wiens School Visit Fund'. Just make your cheque payable to me. ;-)
