Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th of July to all our States-side friends! We Canadians just enjoyed a holiday long weekend as Sat. was Canada Day.
We (Barb and I) spent the long weekend at an international Wiens reunion. The call went out to all the descendents of Jacob and Liese Wiens (my great-grandparents) to gather here in Niagara. We had approx. 150 visitors (out of approx. 700 family members I'm told) join the 3 day gathering from all over Canada and parts of South America. Our time was spent reacquainting ourselves with distant family, or in many cases (for me) meeting family for the first time. We played games, ate, laughed, sang (or listened to) traditional family songs, and recalled the stories of grace that define our family's experience. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
By the way, today is also Barb's birthday, so Happy Birthday to her!

Hey Barb, happy birthday! We pretty much had the same 4th/ bday party as last year, only you guy's were missed. Hope yours was great!
